eMachines eM350 Review

The Acer eMachines eM350 is one of the latest netbooks to become available for purchase in the North American market. It offers a range of features that make it well suited to being used as a portable machine, and it manages to be effective in most of these. Along the way, the eMachines eM350 has also proven itself to be a reliable device among the plethora of netbooks hitting the market these days. These features, as well as the effectiveness and reliability of the eMachines eM350 will be discussed further in the article below.

First of all, the eMachines eM350 is likely to be favored by people interested in portability due to its diminutive size. It is effective as a netbook because it comes with a 10.1 inch screen and is less than one inch thick. The keyboard, however, is larger than that found on the average netbook, as is its touchpad, which makes it easier to type and input data rapidly and accurately while you are out getting things done. Reviewers often praise the feel of the eM350′s keyboard, which feels fluid and flexible under the fingers without being too prone to flex or distortion. Similarly, the view offered by the screen is crisp and bright, although it would be better if it allowed for easier viewing from a variety of angles.

Communication with others while on the move is a big reason behind the recent proliferation of smart phones, tablets, and netbooks, and the Acer eMachines eM350 performs admirably in this regard. Wireless signals are typically easy to obtain and reliable in reconnections, with few dropped signals in most environments. The eMachines eM350 comes with both 802.11 b, g, and n Wifi certification as well as an input for 10/100 mbps fast ethernet connectivity. However, it does not matter how many connection specifications a netbook is equipped with if none of them work effectively, and it is fortunate for users of the eM350 that it works fluidly and effectively in connectivity tasks. As with any netbook, of course, there will be a limit to the distance at which signals can be achieved and connections made, but the eM350 holds its own against many laptops and larger netbooks in this regard.

These days, more and more people are becoming interested in having their own websites, whether because they are simply looking to become more connected to others in the online world or because they have more lucrative endeavors in mind. To this end, netbooks such as the eMachines eM350 can be helpful in allowing people to access the internet and manage their websites wherever they happen to be. While the eM350 is unlikely to be used by itself as a sole computer for designing a website due to its diminutive size, it can easily be paired with a dedicated hosting service service for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and private citizens interested in obtaining their own websites for personal or professional reasons.

Another area of web hosting where the eMachines eM350 might prove useful is in the area of active server pages, or ASP hosting. ASP hosting is becoming more common as Microsoft’s script engine for web pages becomes more widespread among websites used by startup companies and private citizens. Again, while people are not likely to use a machine as small as the eM350 to conduct the majority of their web design work except in emergencies, the netbook still offers enough of a punch with its Atom processor to make working with basic design software a more than manageable task.

Of course, people buy netbooks for reasons beyond wireless connectivity and web hosting; many people are also interested in having the ability to take their music with them wherever they go, while many more are interested in having a small computer that will tide them over for getting work done while they are away from their powerful desktops or laptops, which are going to be less portable. To this end, it is important to have a netbook that is strong and durable enough to stand up to the bumps of everyday life. It doesn’t do people much good to have netbooks that break down at the first sign of dirt or crack in half after the first fall.

While the eMachines eM350 is not the most durable notebook in the world, it is still one of the better ones. Many users report dropping theirs accidentally and simply picking them up to continue working, and this is an asset in today’s fast paced world where people may not always have the time to be as careful as they would like to be. The plastic that comes with the eM350 is reinforced and molded well with few signs of warping or distortion around the creases. However, it undoubtedly remains a netbook that would work best with a case or sleeve.
