Genuine Wholesale Software Review: Overview

Genuine Wholesale Software is an online software store that offers a selection of products such as business softwares, antivirus programs, audio editing softwares and video editing softwares. They’ve been running since 2016, but it seems they’re closed now.

Despite the name of this site, the prices are not “wholesale,” but rather a substantial discount from retail pricing -they offer some softwares here for a small fraction of the cost of buying it in a store or directly from the developer or publisher.

Also, they claim to be based in the United States, but some testimonials on the web highlight they are actually located in China.

That alone is a red flag. But there are plenty of other reasons we’re skeptical of this company:

10 Signs that Genuine Wholesale Software is a scam

1- The website itself is live but it doesn’t work

When a product is listed for sale but there is no option to buy it, that should be a red flag.

Even if the cart works, if you can’t add anything to the cart, that’s also bad news. And that’s exactly what happens with Genuine Wholesale Software’s site.

Most legitimate eCommerce sites are carefully designed to funnel customers through the buying process as quickly and easily as possible. A site that does not allow customers to purchase products is probably not a genuine site.

2- The licenses you download come with an expiration date

It’s a really simple concept. You pay to purchase a license. That means you should have access to the link for as long as you own the software. If you pay for a license and then the link expires, then the software never really belonged to you in the first place -which isn’t mentioned anywhere in their site.

You can get links with expiration dates at other websites too, but there’s a reason.

At those sites, you’ll find software that you can try before you buy. They want to give you a chance to try the software out without committing to it immediately. If you like their software, you can come back later and pay for it.

less money

At Genuine Wholesale Software, though, the software is already paid for. You’ve bought the license. Why should there be an expiration date? If they’re selling you complete software, you should have all the time in the world to download your links.

3- They claim to be selling high-quality software at ridiculously low prices, but as we’ll see that’s not even close to true.

Their product selection is limited to what you see in their landing page -old and outdated versions of Windows and Adobe products, that’s it.

They also claim that all their products are 100% genuine with original license keys, etc., but in reality, all their products come from third-party online marketplaces with very questionable legitimacy and even more questionable validity ratings and reviews.

4- Instead of customer support, they have an auto-responder email address system.

I know it’s the age of email and all that, but if you’re paying $50 for a software package, don’t you think you should be able to call someone up and get a live person on the phone?

I was caught off guard by this because I’m pretty sure I remember them having all sorts of contact information on their website. But it turns out that when you click on “contact us” there is no phone number or support email address. Instead, there is an auto-responder email address system.

customer support

Genuine Wholesale Software is just like the old days of internet scams where you’d have to dig around on a website for hours hunting for any sort of contact information! There is no way to get in touch with anyone if you have a problem or question about your order.

5- They list fake contact information.

This is a huge red flag.

The address on their website is from a shipping store that has nothing to do with them, and the telephone numbers they list don’t even exist.

6- They don’t have any social media profiles.

Genuine Wholesale Software doesn’t have any social media profiles. Often these sites will have a Facebook or Twitter button, but if you click on it, you land on a page that says “Page not found.”

So what does this mean?

Well, not having social media is one thing. But to have links to social media that don’t work? That’s just shady. These are signs of a scam.

7- No “about us” page on their site

Genuine Wholesale Software doesn’t have an “about us” page on its site. If you go to their website and try to find out who they are, what they’re about, and where they’re from, you won’t be able to find it.

This is because a lot of companies that sell fraudulent software will have a website for a short period of time before moving on to another website with a different URL.

8- Their products haven’t been updated

If you’re a regular user of Microsoft products, you will have noticed that they are constantly being updated and improved. This is to ensure that their users are able to use the latest features and benefits of the software.

Genuine Wholesale Software is selling 2013 versions of Microsoft programs on their website. These product versions haven’t been updated for over 6 years! While these programs may work, they won’t include any of the latest updates and improvements from Microsoft.

The Genuine Wholesale Software website claims that “all computer software sold on our website is sourced from legitimate, legal channel partners & distributors”. If this was true, why are they selling outdated software? Why don’t they offer their customers the most up-to-date version of these products?

9- There’s no information on who’s behind this site

The lack of information on who’s behind this company doesn’t mean they aren’t honest, but it’s not a good sign.

If a company is legitimate and wants to build trust with its customer base, it will be transparent about who makes up their team.

10- There are no real reviews about them on the internet

A real wholesale directory will have testimonials from happy customers as well as a guarantee of some sort (usually 60-days money back). If none of this is found on their site, then it’s likely they don’t have any happy customers.
You should also be able to find reviews on the internet (preferably on well-known tech blogs) that are not affiliated with the company.

But there’s practically nothing online about Genuine Wholesale Software -which means it’s best to stay away from them.

Final Thoughts on Genuine Wholesale Software

Genuine Wholesale Software is a scam, and you should avoid it. You’re better off spending your money elsewhere.

A simple Google search for “Genuine Wholesale Software” won’t turn up anything useful. There is one review on TrustPilot from 2017, but that’s it. It doesn’t seem like the company is very active online, which makes us think they may be out of business or in legal trouble.

So when it comes to this company, keep your credit card in your wallet!

You could get taken advantage of by the company, which could be illegal. Or, you might end up with software that doesn’t work or isn’t licensed properly.
