ODi Productions Course Review: What They Don’t Tell You

Affiliate marketing is a simple formula.

Selling products for a commission through digital marketing.

The question is:

Does it work?

You won’t get rich overnight.

You might get some dollars.

Be warned something like 90% of affiliates never make a cent.

You’re better off selling your skills as lead generation services for local businesses.

Here’s the thing:

A few years back, I gave it a shot. I tried affiliate marketing.

I did affiliate marketing for about a year and a half, and even though I got some good money from it…

It wasn’t something I’d recommend.

The few affiliate programs that accepted me had really low commission and they often do things like: change/delete images and break links.

Even though I had everyday visitors to my site, they never clicked on the links or buy anything.

It became really frustrating.

I didn’t know where to turn and was desperate for guidance.

So, I tried a bunch of online courses like John Crestani’s and some others.

But this route is riddled with people who are only trying to make a quick buck off of you instead of trying to help you solve the problem you’re having.

We’ve all seen those youtube ads with the guys in a rental car at a barely furnished house talking about how much they make.

Meanwhile they charge thousands for their learning material. I lost over $2,000 falling for these schemes. That was a lot of money to me as a college student.

That said, there are some people who (apparently) really make a living of it.

Odi is one of those guys, and if you’re wondering if his Affiliate Marketing Champ program is worth it or not, then you’ve come to the right place.

I’m now into lead generation, making a 6-figure semi-passive income from my sofa –my top business model recommendation.

Anyway, I promise this review is totally unbiased!

Let’s dive right in.

 

Who Is Odi Productions?

Odi is an entrepreneur and internet marketer, he is very young though, but very, very experienced.

During college years, he claims to have attended UCLA.

That’s where he created his first online business, which was a website developed by him, RecordingNOW.com.

He claims to also have sold beats as a music producer and provided mixing/mastering services for artists through his website.

Odi was doing well in college, but -as I totally understand, wish I could get back my $30K!-…started getting uncomfortable with it then ended up dropping out.

He managed to grow his RecordingNOW business to $1,000 per month but even though, he ended up getting a 9-5 job as a digital marketing specialist.

He was fired 7 months later. After that, he was able to grow his online business from $2,000 per month to $20,000 per month in more or less than a year.

Awesome, right?

 

What Is The Affiliate Marketing Champ?

The Affiliate Marketing Champ is the course developed and taught by Odi Productions.

He decided to put together all the information that he gathered through his journey in a course to replicate the success formula that he used to build and grow RecordingNOW.com and pass that juice to his students.

The course uses Teachable as its hosting platform and just right after purchase, you are presented with the content.

The first video is about his story “From UCLA DROPOUT to DREAM LIFE in just 2 years”.

It’s a 25 minutes video where he lets you get inside his life and routine.

So we get to know him, he seems cool and all that but I keep going through the content with eyes wide open.

Cause we know scammers, right?

From that, he moves on and uses his words to express his thoughts on why he thinks that affiliate marketing is the best online business model today (we don’t agree on that, Odi)

And then provides some good examples of well established and authoritative websites that earn their income through affiliate marketing.

Indeed several websites are killing it when it comes to affiliates’ earnings.

Within the course, he provides a step-by-step plan on how to start an affiliate marketing business in a single 43 minutes video.

He breaks down this lesson like this:

• Picking up a niche
• Branding your business
• Starting a Youtube channel
• Creating a simple website
• Applying for affiliate networks
• Finding/researching for products to sell
• Creating content to promote the products you’re willing to sell
• Running paid ads to get traffic
• Capturing emails for remarketing
• Repeat from step number 6 to 9 for each product you wish to promote.

Moving on, he gives his opinion on what niches he thinks are the most profitable, teaches to create a very simple and basic website using WordPress, then the rest of the lessons are basic marketing strategies, mainly using paid advertising and email marketing.

Here’s What I Really Think

There are quite many things that I personally don’t like in this course.

I wouldn’t say it is a bad course, but wouldn’t categorize it as good either.

The principles taught in the course are real and they work.

But the way he does, the way he makes his decisions may not work for everyone, especially for complete beginners.

It is very prone to failure.

• Too focused on paid advertising

I don’t like the fact that his core business marketing strategy relies heavily on Youtube videos and paid adverts.

Not everyone has got great skills to talk on a microphone, present slides, let alone appear in front of the cameras.

It is true, having videos make a huge difference when it comes to smashing the competition, since videos have a higher retention rate when compared to written articles, but articles take the advantage when it comes to implementation and scalability.

As for the paid ads, they may not be very sustainable for programs like Amazon Associates – which is the entry-level for affiliate marketers, 24 hours cookie duration, for high ticket products, people usually don’t make impulsive buying decisions.

30-60% of products sales on Amazon links don’t come directly from the products that you promote.

Instead, they come from other products the user adds to his cart and I doubt that if you capture people’s emails they’d take you seriously if you follow them up trying to convince them to buy those BOSE headphones they just went over on Amazon to see.

• Too expensive

The last thing that bothered me was the price tag. I don’t remember exactly how much, all I can say is that this course was selling close to $2,000.

Wrap Up

Look:

It has the potential of becoming a better course, but it must go through an update and be refreshed.

As it is, if for whatever reason it crosses your way, I wouldn’t advise you to buy it.
