In this article, I’m gonna show you how to make money on Instagram with Clickbank.

If you’re thinking ‘but … I’m not a photographer!’

Then don’t worry… me neither!

Luckily Instagram makes it super easy to take normal photos and make them look great.

Did you know Instagram has 119,700,000 users in the US ALONE?

That is 36.1% of the population.

That is a HUGE amount of people to reach out to!

And that is why, even if you’re totally uncreative when it comes to taking pictures, you need to give it a shot.

Instagram is pretty much the perfect platform when it comes to affiliate marketing.

You can pick just about any niche and find an audience for it (no matter how specific. Chances are, you’ll find it).

With the use of a decent bio, some hashtag research, and a little effort …

… you can use Instagram to make a serious difference to your sales.

If you’ve read my other posts, you know that I’m not a big fan of affiliate marketing!

So, I’m coming at this from the perspective of a lead generation marketer. It’s the reason I left affiliate marketing and the one that keeps paying me since then for living the life I’ve always wanted!

I’ve got experience when it comes to this stuff, so I know what works and what doesn’t.

(And I know that from making mistakes. Hopefully I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made.)

So today I’m going to share some ideas about how to make Instagram really work for you.

Minimal creative skills required. I promise!

Stage 1 – The Prep Work: Creating a Clickbank Account

Okay, so the first thing you wanna do is sign up to Clickbank.

If you’ve never used it before, Clickbank is an online marketplace selling digital products.

Signing up to be a Clickbank affiliate is worth doing – they’ve got tons of great digital products.

Creating an account is pretty simple – you have to fill out some details, like your name and address.

Now, head on over to the Marketplace.

Picking a niche can be tough.

There are tons to choose from on Clickbank.

One thing I’d say is that it’s really, really helpful to pick something that you’re interested in.

That way, you’ll only recommend products or services that you genuinely love or find useful, plus it’ll help you when you come to make content for Instagram later.

Seriously!

Don’t just pick something that offers a chunky commission per sale – it won’t come across as genuine when you suggest it to your followers, plus, you’ll bore yourself stupid talking about it.

Stage 2 – Find Offers According to Gravity Score

Clickbank offers a cool system called the Gravity score.

Basically, it’s a way of sorting offers depending on ‘number of affiliates who earned a commission by promoting the vendor’s products during the past 12 weeks’.

So basically, the amount of people who have actually made money from these products.

Click ‘sort results by’ and choose ‘gravity’ to get the offers with the best gravity score first.

Anything above 50 is going to show you offers with good conversion rates.

However, anything over 200 means it might be a bit too popular (so everyone and their aunt is talking about it already).

You can also see the average $ made per sale which is useful.

Once you’ve found some good offers, you’re ready to move on to Instagram!

It’s an affordable online course that will make a huge difference to the money you make in your 9 to 5. Plus, it’s way more profitable that any affiliate marketing venture!

Stage 3 – Set Up Instagram and Linktree Accounts

Alright, now to set up your Instagram account!

I know you might already have one, but just in case.

Signing up for Instagram is pretty simple. Just click ‘sign up’, enter some basic info, and you’re good to go.

(Pro tip: it may help to get a username that reflects your niche so people can actually find you!)

Now’s the time, during the setup phase, to set up a Linktree account.

In case you’re wondering ‘what the hell is Linktree’, it’s basically a way to keep links to all your content in one place.

So, you can get around only having one link in your Instagram bio.

This is REALLY useful in this situation as it means you can advertise more than one thing at a time.

It takes all of two minutes to sign up and they even have a free plan, or a pro plan for $6 a month.

Add your affiliate links to your Linktree page. Then you can copy your Linktree URL and add it to your Instagram bio.

Stage 4 – Get Traffic to Your Instagram Account

Now this is where the real work begins.

You can have the best intentions in the world but without traffic to your Instagram account?

No-one is going to be seeing or using your affiliate links.

There’s a few things you can do to get more eyes on your account:

Update Your Bio

People wanna know about you, and they’re more likely to click on a link if they get an idea of who you are.

So … get that bio updated.

Click on your profile and click ‘edit profile’ to do it.

Simple, right?

As a guideline you want to make sure you’ve got your Linktree URL ready to put here:

Then just add some basic info about you so people know who you are and what to expect from your account.

Find Relevant Popular Hashtags

Hashtags are really important. But how do you know which ones to use?

Luckily there are tools like Hashtagify out there.

Head on over to Hashtagify.

To use it, you need to create an account. You can get a 7-day free trial by signing up, it’s super easy to do.

Once you’re in make sure you’re looking for Instagram hashtags

As you’ll see you get stats like total posts and recent interactions.

You also get related hashtags or hashtags that are used with your chosen hashtag.

Want another tip?

Don’t just use the most popular hashtags.

Going more specific with your hashtags will mean less competition so people are more likely to engage with your Instagram posts.

If you only use the super-popular ones, your Instagram posts will be drowning in a sea of other users.

Make Content

You don’t have to be a pro to take decent pictures on your phone.

Look at other profiles for inspiration and take some photos.

Take a little time to edit them, make ‘em look nice – and you’re done.

(By all means if you enjoy this stage, knock yourself out! There are thousands of tutorials online for taking good Instagram pictures).

Once you’ve got some photos, you can release them one at a time.

You can sign up for a service like Buffer or Hootsuite to schedule your posts if that makes it easier.

That way you can batch-group your tasks and get a ton of photos uploaded at once.

Now you can add those hashtags you found earlier, and post. Job done!

Well… Kind of…

Find and Connect with Others

Alright, it’s up to you how much time you put into this.

If this is more of a side gig for you, you might not have time to make tons of friends on Instagram.

But … if you’ve got a spare five minutes every now and then, you can maximise the chances of people seeing your post if you like other people’s stuff, too.

Just click on one of your chosen hashtags and like a ton of the posts.

Leave comments.

(Decent ones that show you’ve looked at the picture, not just spam – people hate that).

Follow people making similar content. Follow Adder could automate this process.

You’ll find that some of them follow you back and will start liking your posts, too.

You get to give people a bit of joy from getting a heart on their post, and you get more eyeballs on your content.

Everybody wins!

This will get easier the more followers you get.

It’s a hard graft to start with if you’ve chosen a super-saturated niche, but eventually, you’ll start gaining followers with less work involved.

Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing you’ve earned your followers through your own hard work

Use Instagram Stories

If you want to put even MORE effort into it, you can start using Instagram stories.

Instagram stories

If you’ve got some fun behind-the-scenes content that will build up your Instagram identity and point people towards your main Instagram grid, then it’s worth it.

Instagram stories are meant to be instant snapshots of your day.

But it can be a pretty good way to point people in the right direction.

You can advertise your affiliate products directly on your Instagram stories.

This is a kind of awesome, super-easy way to give people an idea of how great your chosen product or service is.

Let them know the link to the product is in your bio and people will know where to find it.

You can kinda experiment here.

The good thing about Instagram is it’s a creative platform.

So, you can have fun with it.

If you don’t enjoy it, just concentrate on your grid photos instead.

Conclusion

There you have it!

Hopefully, you can start watching the sales come flooding in.

Alright… it won’t work like that straight away.

Instagram is not an overnight-success kind of deal.

It’s an investment. It takes time, and a little care, to build up an audience on any social media platform.

People want decent content, they want to get to know people, they want to know that you’re a real person who genuinely cares about the same things they do.

That takes time, it takes effort.

Once you hit a certain point on Instagram, things will start becoming easier – people will find your content because lots of others follow you.

The more eyeballs you have on your grid, the more clicks you’ll get.

The more clicks, the more sales etc. etc.

Having a decent following on any social media platform is a REALLY useful thing to have.

Of course, you might get on Instagram and realise it’s not your thing…

At all…

In which case, don’t dwell on it, look for something else instead!

Something like the best business model out there: lead generation.

Again, if you wanna make a success of building your own online business I would definitely check out this business leads course. I think it’s a super-valuable program that can teach you tons of useful stuff about building your lead generation business and more specifically…
